Win XP reboots itself

Postby jemmo » Wed Apr 25, 2007 7:11 pm

My PC has suddenly decided that every now and again (at some point during the evening - could be once, could be more than once) it will reboot itself. It's usually if I have a browser window open (I have both Firefox and IE7 but choose to use Firefox).

It happened just now and I sent of the error report to MS. A window popped up with the following text;

Windows cannot find
'http://microsoft.comresredr.aspx?sid=10&Bucket=0xD1_Wousbehci%2b5956&State=1&ID=62ed10ec-244c-4dc3-a43e-b00001f84dd6&LCID=
1033&OS=5.1.2600.2.00010100.20' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.To search for a file click the Start button, and then click Search.

Anyone know what this is all about?

jemmo,

Error code 100000d1 usually is bad ram or drivers but can also be hardware failure.

Try downloading
Choose you flavor of bootable device, floppy or CD and download the file for that media.
Boot the system from your chosen media and let it run for a couple of hours, if you get any errors then it is bad ram.
If the system has more than one stick of ram then try removing one stick and retest with memtest 86.

Cheers Gecko. Just not sure which version I need.
What are Pre-compiled Bootable ISO and Pre-compiled Bootable Binary?

jemmo

If you have a CD burner then download the Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)

If your system has a floppy drive then download the Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win)
