hp printer install error

When I go to install my printer software I get to the part of printing a test page and then receive the following error.(unable to start the application--Java Virtual Machine cannot be loaded. Class Not Registered.) The printer software never finishes loading. I have uninstalled and tried to reinstall the software several times. Ok, I'm not sure what the error was indicating, but I downloaded and installed the updated version of my printer software and driver and the installation was successful, but now my OS was not detecting my printer. I went to control panel(printer and faxes)(add printer) and when I clicked on add printer a window popped up and told me(the operation could not continue) I then went to administrative tools in control panel(computer management) (services and applications) (services) then scrolled down to print spooler only to find that it was set to manual, changed it to automatic rebooted and there was my printer. I hope this posting will help someone else..
