No System Restore points?

Hi all , I have a problem when trying to create System restore points, They are all dissapearing??? when I try to reset to a previous point there are no choices apart from the actual day that we are on. I have made sure that System restore has not been disabled and am baffled to what is giong on??
Any help anyone?

Torquay-Pete,
Do you have any errors showing up in the event viewer?
Go to Start > Control panel > Administrative tools > Event viewer > look in the system section.
Also do you have enough free space on you hard drive?

yep there are dozens of errors listed in there!!! they nearly all seem to be related to
ati2mtag, Service Control manager or DCOM,
Any help to you?

Torquay-Pete,
How about posting a couple of the Service Control manager errors.
Click inside the 'Description' section then highlight the text and copy and paste it into notepad.
At the bottom of the event window check 'words' and then copy and paste that text also
Paste it all into your reply to this thread.
Did you check your hard drive free space?

HI gecko,
I have more than 75GB of free space on the Hard drive, so I think that counts that out. I have re-examined the error log and found this interesing entry under "sr"....
The System Restore filter encountered the following error 0xc0000033 while processing the file FF-III CAT on the volume Harddiskvolume2. It has stopped monitoring the Volume.
this is the error log which I could copy and paste
0000: 0000000e 004e0004 00000000 c0000001
0010: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
0020: 00000000 00000000
hope this makes sense to you...( I dont to me lol)

Torquay-Pete,
According to all you need to do is turn system restore off and then back on again.
Now if you're having troubles and are trying to restore to an earlier point then obviously you don't want to do this.
If that the case then please let me know and I will help you work around this without loosing all your restore points.
Its kind of a back door way of doing it but you would need a CD burner and a windows XP cd.
