Printer problem

Postby marrtyn » Sun Jan 18, 2004 5:22 pm

I run a home network of two computers.

I have just upgraded my machine to XP Pro. This computer has a Epson EPL 5800 laser printer attatched.

The problem is, if we try to print to the laser from the other machine (Windows ME), the printer works, but for every page printed, prints a further 4 with strange codes on. eg,

@ EJL
@ EJL COMMENT PRN-PAGE
@EJL SJ ID= Windows9x

and so on

I've deleted and reloaded the printer but can't solve the problem.

Please help.

Did you Add Network Printer from the WinXp machine and then use the drivers the wizard gave on the WinMe machine?
Did you update the WinXp drivers when you changed operating systems?

When you shared the printer in XP, you should also have got the option of including drivers for other OS's - did you include winME in the list of OS's that XP would provide drivers for?
