Hanging Boot on XP System

Hello all...

First time here. Working on a Gateway GT4023E with Media Center (2005) on it. Freezing at boot screen prior to Windows XP splash screen.
Attempted to run Recovery...getting error message file VIAIDE.SYS is corrupted and to press any key to continue...

Any key takes me right back to the beginning....

Don't have a boot disk...not sure if one would work...

Kinda stuck...any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried booting into safe mode?

Reboot into Safe mode:
Restart Windows after you see the BIOS screen or Gateway screen and before Windows starts to load.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
Use the Arrow key to ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
