No autorun Vista Home Premeum

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premeum on a Dell Inspiron 530. Autorun will not work with any cd's or dvd's. It appears that I have the correct registry values, the use autoplay for all media and devices box is checked and the shell hardware detection is running and set to automatic. Not sure what else to do
A resolution to this issue would be a great thing.

Funny you mention that. In windows 7, autorun will be disabled by default, or removed all together.

This has been a problem since day one with this machine. I have been searching hi and low for a solution to this problem , and everything that has been posted throughout the world wide web i have tried. It is absolutely irritating to not have any of your devices be automaticly recognized. They all show up within my devices with removeable storage window, and i can open or explore, but nothing will autorun or autoplay. Am I a victim of a poorly designed security feature in Windows Vista? Or I guess I could just continue to live with it......... :flame:

Hey buddy, im sorry but i have absolutly zero experiance with vista.
A quick google search took me to this though, .

I guess you could try that, i recommend reading it all through carefully and backing up before you do anything.
