Mouse Trouble

Postby Fire_Storm24 » Sat Jun 12, 2004 12:50 am

Hello 2 days ago i upgraded my psu to a 400 watt from a 300 watt since doing this i have been having problems with my mouse eg when im surfing the net and using the wheel on it it moves the bottom bar as opposed to the one on the right of the page or it will close the page im viewing by itself. I have just changed back to the old psu and still getting the same problem. I've had the mouse for a fgew years now do you think it could be on its way out or is it something else? I should also point out that i have checked the settings for the mouse and all of them are fine.

The mouse issue isnt related to the PSU at all although it never hurts to have more juice :)

Whats puzzling me is there are very few webpages designed to where a bottom scroll bar is needed. This leads me to 3 conclusions...Your either on a very small monitor, you have the video resolution set extremely low or both.

What type of mouse is this..USB,PS/2,serial?

I can without a doubt say that the power supply upgrade had nothing to do with your scroll wheel change. I'd suggest putting the bigger supply back in.

as far as your scrolling issue, I tried searching google without much luck. I did find that i got better results with horizontal/vertical rather than up/down left/right. You may want to see if you can find any info. I gues liljim's point about why there is a horizontal bar in the first place is a good one too.. I did find quite a few references to web desiners forcing horizontal scrolling on webpages, so it may just be the particular site you are on. You could try making the pctechforums window smaller and see if you have the same problem here on this site.

I have a 15 inch monitor and am running the screen resolution at 800 x 600 what that has to do with my mouse i have no idea. The mouse however is a ps2 trust ami optical mouse. Also another thing i should mention when i had the 400 watt psu in is it was making my hdd overheat and now im back with the 300 watt its fine. Do you think that maybe the psu has a fault?
