CD-ROM/DVD Help

Postby davgooner » Fri Oct 22, 2004 2:51 pm

Okies.

I have a CD-ROM drive (shock!), but when in My Computer there is an E:/ drive with the name DVD Drive, and system information says it's a Generic SCSI DVD Device, but clearly the only drive I have is the standard CD-ROM/RW.

Any Ideas what's going on?

Hi davgooner, welcome to the forum Image

In the Device Manager, if you click on the + sign next to the CDROM, it should give you the make and name of your CD-RW.
Is this where you are getting your information?
Have you tried to access this mystery E:/?

Have tried loading a dvd and accessing E:/, simply says insert disk.

Got the information from System information regarding the DVD device, it is listed aswell and the Samsung CD/RW drive, but listed as a seperate device.

Not at my comp at the moment so can't explain more than that.
