My monitor is causing me trouble

Postby MooPoo » Sat Nov 13, 2004 12:41 pm

Hi Guys and Gals

hanks in advance for any help given!

I have a problem with my monitor. Well thats not true, I have a couple of problems with it.

I bought these 3 19" CRT monitors at an auction. One is an LG Studioworks 900B that works like a beauty and the other 2 are Packard Bell A920's. One is pretty well damaged and doesnt even power up, the other I am having these problems with. So I have a spare for parts possibly.

Firstly I cannot find drivers for it anywhere. I cant even find any reference to it on the makers website or anywhere else for that matter.

The second , and more pressing problem I have with it is that when I press the button on the front to go into the monitor menu system to adjust contrast etc, weird things happen.

There is a degauss button, a menu button and 2 navigation buttons.

If I press the degauss button nothing happens.
If I press the menu button it degausses.
If I press the navigation buttons furiously lots of times the menu comes up but I cannot change it off contrast. It wont move to any other menu item.

Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong with it or how to fix it?

I did a search for you and came up empty handed for that Monitor.
But Dell did make an ALL-in-1 Printer the A920.

Monitors are very hard to repair and I would suggest having a qualified Tech look at it if you want to repair it.

Sorry I couldn't help you.

Could this be the driver you need

As for repairing the monitor settings control buttons it sounds like they are wired wrong to me.
But as Cactus said Monitors are very hard to repair
