Fan question

Hi

Know this is a really simple question but thought id double check. When installing a new fan onto a heatsink the air should be blowing onto the heatsink!?

Should be. I know with my pcs there is only one way to mount the fan to the heatsink. Think of it as an automoble, the fan blows air into the radiator.

It actually depends how old it is, older fan's and heatsinks actually are designed to have air blowing out. I guess they wanted hot air away from the heatsink, then they released having cool air blowing in was better...
