For some reason when I hit alt-ctrl-del nothing happens anymore. The usual screen doesn't come up anymore. I don't know what happened. I'm running Windows XP Home.

Perhaps you have been infected with something.

Try going to the Free Online Virus Scan and running that. Next download Ad-Aware and run that. Next download Spybot Search & Destroy and run that. Finally, download Hijackthis and post a log file for us to see what's going on.
