AMI Bios Beep

Hey folks, Got a bios beep concern. The pc boots fine with the exception of a checksum bad error every so often, where as it will boot ok except that the date and time are not correct and it loads the default values. While on the pc (after booting, von the net, running apps,etc. ) I get 1 short beep followed by a momentery freeze of the mouse every 5 or 6 minutes (( AMI bios, Elite K7S5A mobo, Athlon XP 2000+ cpu, 512 mb of Kingston pc2700 ddr, WindowsXP pro.))

replace the battery

Date and time loss as well as checksum errors are a good indication of battery failure.
