computer slow???laggin??

hi all,

i don't know what wrong with my computer now. It's been very slow.
here's my spec:

soyo p4x400 dragon lite
2.8ghz
over 1gig ram
60 gig HDD partition to 19gig and 37gig
xfx geforce 6600gt
300watt

When running more that 2 applications, it starts to lagg. Never have it done this before. I just newly reinstalled windows. That was the reason why i reinstalled windows the first place. Sometimes, it will just restart by itself. I think the Blue screen might of pop up as of what i would expected, but i didn't see any blue screen.

Whats wrong? Please help.

I don't know how much memory you have on board, but 'over 1 gig' could be the problem.

One stick of memory that doesn't match the rest could be the culprit.

Go to trendmicro.com and scan it for a virus and spyware. There is no reason the system should be running slow. Go to the properties on your hard drive and do the error checking and defrag of the hard drive. You might want to go to webroot.com and download the 30 day version of spy sweeper it's one of the best programs I have seen.
If all the above fails it could be a hardware issue or heat problem.
