Does anyone here have any experience with one of these?

Its purpose is to receive internet from cellular networks. I currently bluetooth a GPRS signal to my pc from my phone which pulls about a 200k connection but my phone company offers an EDGE connection if im willing to buy the expensive piece of hardware listed above. It wont be a great deal faster but i wont have some of the limitations i currently have with GPRS. The GPRS is going through a proxy server that seems to hate anything other than a HTTP protocol, thats extremely annoying.

Ouch is right, its insane what one has to do for internet. If i were you, i wouldnt be in a hurry either. Dish internet absolutely sucks, its unreliable, its slow, they all have ridiculous bandwidth caps and anytime something is needed to be done at your house you have pay the installer all over again. Im tempted to try the other ridiculous option above, $285 is alot cheaper than the $550 i gave the satellite company. I was hoping to run into someone who might have tried it before, i hate going into something without knowledge. As you know, i was working on the wifi but i would wind up being 90' in the air to clear a bunch of oak trees.. Initially, that didnt concern me until i drive up next to one that was only 60' and realized just how high that really is. If it were to fall in my situation, it would either take out power lines or my house, neither of which is very desirable. I have 80' if tower assembled in my back yard now but im to chicken to stand it up. I know they are working on piggy backing power lines with internet, thats probably my best hope for internet service in the future. Theres a town about 30 miles north of me that has self reporting electric meters, it sends a data signal once a month to the light company via the power lines to calculate the bill. Hopefully thats the beginning of a good thing.
