Multiple soundcards?

Postby Junior_co » Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:41 am

Hey all... I'm not sure if this is one question or two.... but here goes...

My Better Half has a time program called "Say the Time" that she uses that spit out sound tidbits every now and then...

She also listens to lectures on line...

Whenever the time program spits out a tidbit as (or just before) the lecturer keys up his mic, the computer messes up the lecture session and she'll have to cycle the audio preference on the lecture room....

Also during the lecture she heard someone talking about running two lecture rooms at the same time using two sound cards...

I'm sorry if this is too vague, but I'm not sure if I have all the details needed. Pleas feel free to ask any Q's necessary...

Do ya have any ideas on this??

Good on ya

Hi Junior_co

It could be that she is listening to streaming audio which has a buffer. Then you have a program that just spits out the time. You'll get the time, but the buffer is messed up at that point. She needs to disable the time feature. It's kind of like lighting a cigarette while pumping gas in you car, you can do both, but the results may vary.

Thanks for the info Ice.... This is what I'll advise her to do....

As always, Thanks again for the help

Good on ya
