Well the parents went and bought a PC without first asking me, what should they buy, so they went out and bought a Compaq Presario SR5050NX

CPU: Intel Pentium D 925 / 3 GHz
MOTHERBOARD: Intel 945GC Express
RAM: 2 X 512 MB DDR2 PC4200
HARD DRIVE: 250GB SATA
VIDEO/AUDIO: Integrated

Ok so, it came preloaded with Windows Vista, which was slow as heck and no problems, incompatible drivers with older printer and scanner they have, so I decided to put on Windows XP Pro for them.

I got it installed and everything, but cannot find drivers for the Intel mobo, sound, or video to work with Windows XP. Does anyone know of any or am I pretty much screwed because the computer came preloaded with Vista?

Depends on the audio chipset of that board but heres 2 possible sound drivers





Neither of those drivers are for that exact board, intel doesnt show that model because it was designed just for compaq.

Thank you for searching but I tried those drivers previously and they both gave errors and would not finish installing, I had no choice but to roll back to Vista.

I deleted as much useless junk as I could and went back to the Classic theme for less system demand and that seems to have helped quite a bit with speed.
