Motherboard and X2

All computer hardware support

Motherboard and X2

Hey again.

I want to upgrade tomorrow to the AMD AM2 X2 6000+ 3.0 GHZ Dual core. My question is, my motherboard is the MSI K9N Platinum, it says the following:

• Supports 64-bit AMD® Athlon™ 64 / Athlon 64FX / Athlon 64 X2 processor (Socket AM2)
• Supports Athlon 64 CPU: 3500+, 3800+
• Supports Athlon 64FX CPU: FX-62
• Supports Athlon 64 X2 CPU: 3800+, 4000+, 4200, 4400+, 4600+, 4800+, 5000+, 5200+

Since it does not go beyond 5200+, does this mean it will not support any of those, or is it just that the list is not completed?

This will take you to MSI and the supported CPUs for your motherboard based on BIOS version

It looks like it can support it with a BIOS update. :)
