4gb RAM on xp pro sp2

is it possible to utilise most of the 4gb ram with a 32 bit xp pro sp2 system. i want to upgrade from 2 to 4 but have been told will need to make some adjustments to accomodate?

If i remember correctly, 4 gigs is the limit but it wont see anything more than that.

Windows xp and vista will only reconise 3.7 something of ram i would advise getting the best and fastest 3 gig of ram you can afford and you should be flying

32 bit Operating Systems will only "see" a maximum of 4GB, including memory used for graphics, sound, neteork etc. This means in practice you will only have whats left for the system. If you have a 512MB graphics card for example, you will get less than 3.5GB for the system.

You need a 64bit system to use all of 4GB or more.
