Ok, i've had this problem for ages but until recently havn't really been bothered by it. A topic with the same problem was posted in the HL2 section the other day but no really useful answers came from it, so I thought i'd try here.
The problem is that in game my sound is back to front. With music, movies and even in sound tests the speakers are playing the right sounds. Even in the CS sound test the sound comes from the right place, but then as soon as I join a server everything is reversed. This is, of course, a problem as I get very confused. However, I do what anyone else would do and just turn the headset around.
This is not just a problem with the headset as it has been happening for a very long time, and I have used a variety of different headsets. This is also the case with soundcards. So, all I can think is at some time I got use to a headset playing sound back to front and now that is normal to me in game... but that doesn't explain why the sound tests in the game are normal for me.
What i want to know is, isthere anything i can do to reverse sound on my PC? At the moment I have the Steelseries 5Hv2 headset and a Razer Barracuda AC-1 soundcard, and I have had to cellotape the mic so it stays close to my mouth when i've turned it around. I really want to get a razer barracuda headset but i can't because as it is 7.1 surround sound it will not sound right if i have to listen to it "backwards."
