usb 1 and 2 + a motherboard question

hi,

Was wondering if anyone knows the difference between usb 1 and usb 2. I naively ask as i own an old-ish machine (spec below) and need a hub to incorporate my webcam aswell as my scanner and zip drive.

P2 350MHz [overclocking at 500]
6 year old motherboard (Bx or Tx2 - dont really know..is there a way to find out other than open her up?)
192 Meg RAM

It seems like usb 2 has increased transfer speed but will my machine make any use of it?

Also i would like to upgrade my graphics card in order to play games but i have no spare pci slots - i bought a good quality 64mg graphics card (who's name escapes me!!) but cannot plug it in - is there any way to expand my current PC?

What OS?

If you're on XP go to your Control Panel>System> Device Manager and click to open the Universal Serial Bus tree. If your system is able to use USB 2 you'll see “Enhanced” USB host controller.

USB 2 = 480Mbps transfer rate while USB 1 is 12Mbps.
