RAID

Postby Axelation » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:42 pm

I have a server with a raid 5 setup. I suspect that one of the drives are going bad. I am getting read errors from a backup program that we are using that is indicating bad sectors on the drive.
Is there any way to poll that drive individually or scan it so as not to lose data?

Everything I have read so far says no, but if someone knows of any software for server 2003 that will test the drives individually without destroying the data or breaking the RAID array, then let me know.
