PSU or Mobo problems

Whats up people so the other day I came home after a weekend out, went straight to my pc. My mother had turned off the multiplug so as soon as I turned it on my pc went on as well. It did not boot, gave no displays, no beeps, no nothing. Only the lights and fans were running. On/off button wasn't working at all so I had to turn off the power supply.

So right now everytime I turn on the psu switch the computer automatically turns on but doesn't boot. Only way to turn it off is through the psu switch. I have an epox 9npa ultra motherboard that has an indicator led the displays a code that shows the pc status. It reads FF which according to the manual means "reserved".

I don't know if it's the psu or the mobo that's defective. Either way I really don't know what to do. I need some help guys, I'll greatly appreciated.

Sound like the same problem I have.

Boot the PC and the fans kick in, but the floppy doesn't initialise and after a few seconds the hard-drive light goes out. PC doesn't get to POST status (befor proper PC start up).

I was told if you remove all RAM sticks and boot the PC, you should get some warning beeps - this indicates the mobo is okay. I am waiting for confirmation (on another post) that this is true.

In the meantime I am searching the web for a replecement mobo where I don't need to buy a new processor and RAM as well. Not having much luck unless I want to buy used (same model) from China.

Turn the system on and then push and hold the On/Off button.
The system should turn off after 5 - 10 seconds of holding the button.
If that works then try the On/Off button to see if the system will boot.
