Strange laptop keyboard issue

I have a very strange issue with my keyboard that i have just recently encountered a few days ago. I would use my keyboard normally and out of the blue at random times my P key 1 2 and 4 key and also backspace key would stop working but every other key would work fine then they would either randomly start working again on their own or i would have to smash random working keys and the not working keys at the same time to make them work again. It just doesn't seem like a hardware issue because for one they work fine and why would they all stop working and start working together it's never just one key that doesn't work it's always the same keys i have no control over it sometimes it wont do it for hours and sometimes it will do it every few seconds. I did notice however it always seems to happen when i type in skype chat almost always. I am currently doing some virus scans and spyware scans but i doubt it will resolve my issue.

Computer is an Asus g60vx notebook running on windows 7 home premium 64bit latest service pack all drivers up to date tried googling this issue but obviously such an uncommon confusing issue yields no useful results when searched for.

For now i'll stick to smashing my keys every time it happens worse comes to worse i'll just use a usb keyboard but i just think i should be able to use my laptop keyboard sending it in for repair is not an option because it takes about 20 - 30 days for them to make any sort of repair and i need my laptop. as i stated i strongly think it's a software issue or a virus or something but if anyone has any opinions on how to diagnose this issue i'm all ears and willing to try anything aslong as it wont blow up my laptop. ;)

thats strange indeed, apart from your virus scan you can post a hijackthis logfile to us and lets see if anything is going on there.

i dont see anything that points to virus but theres alot of registry issues that could have been the result of some. Download and click registry on the left. Click scan for issues then after its done click fix selected. Once thats done, reboot your machine and post a new log so we can see if it cleaned it up some.

Its crazy. If half the files your registry thinks are missing actually were, that machine wouldnt boot. Im doing a little extra research before i post any solution, some of these bad entries are critical to the OS so before i start having you remove them i want to make sure im not overlooking anything.

Your using avg as i see it, is it up to date?

oh i see now, i overlooked you were on 64 bit. HiJackthis isnt compatible with 64 bit systems yet and it list the files as missing. Sorry about that, i overlooked that in your original post. With that in mind, your log is clean. Conduit toolbar was about the only thing questionable but it looks like ccleaner took care of it. Is it still acting up?
