early 90's crap

Okay, I got this old pc, from a local shop, for about 30 dollars, It has 16MB of RAM, 100mhz proccessor, and a 1gig hard drive, so I formatted it and I lost my old DOS disks, so I decided to go in the bios and boot from CD(win95) but there is a password, I have no idea what it is, and neither does the crappy pc shop, so could someone help me get around this?

A few options spring to mind - do you have a motherboard manual? There should be a jumper to reset the BIOS somewhere on there. Failing that, can you boot off a floppy disk (grab a boot floppy from www.bootdisk.com)? If you can, there are several programs that will decode the BIOS password for you - check here for some links http://neworder.box.sk/codebox.links.php?key=cmosgrp. As always, you use these programs at your own risk!!!

A final possibility would be to take the hard disk out, pop it in another machine & install whatever OS you wanted. Then you could just stick it back into the original machine
