Video card trouble...grrr!

Postby Lord__Chaos » Sun Jul 13, 2003 4:42 am

Hey everyone...

I desperately need help!

I recently built a computer...a kick ass one (At least, I think so :P)

Here it is:

Soyo KT-400 Dragon ULTRA (Platinum Ed.)
Athlon XP 2800+
512 MB DDR-RAM
80 Gig HD
And a GeForce4 Ti4820P (128 MB and 8x AGP)

Now, my problem is this: While playing video games...and only while playing games...several things will happen. Such as:

Screen flickering
Screen VERY briefly becomes distorted (Briefly as in, less than a second at a time..but happens often)
Game freezes and crashes whole system (I'm running Windows 2000)

I'm running the latest Detonator drivers, i've configured stuff in the BIOS as well as in Windows...i've tried turning the options ALL the way down in the games..but nothing seems to help.

Could it be a faulty video card? Anyone know what it could be?? It's driving me CRAZY!

Thanks in advance,

Chaos

Could be overheating - have you got airlfow in the case? Have you tried checking the hardware temp monitors?
