Graphics card hlep

Postby tony_2k4 » Mon May 03, 2004 5:06 pm

recently i have updated my computer and have moved my old radeon 9700 pro onto to this computer but im having problems with it while playing games.

when playing games it will work fine for a short time and then the computer will either restart(on return it says windows has recovered fe a serious error), the screen will go blue or the screen will go blank and the monitor will go onto standby mode.

Sounds like a heat issue to me. I'd pull the card out, and check the fan for dust, etc. Also make sure it spins when you turn the PC back on.

I'd also check out the area below the fan when the card is installed. If you have a Large PCI card directly below your video card, it'll be much harder for the video card's little fan to properly cool the GPU (graphics processing unit)

I dont recommend running a computer with the case off. Installing case fans if possible would be a better choice
