I reviewed a card a little while back, with the SIL680 chipset. This card supports both IDE raid, and just adding an extra 4 devices. By default it will just allow you to put more ide in, you can set up the raid in bios. This card increases speed quite a bit. I do not recommend this card if you plan on using raid and Linux as there are no drivers for raid in linux.. it will see the extra devices in linux, the raid hard drives just won't show up properly.
