Yes they are compatible through D-Sub or DVI but not through HDMI. Both are very nice pieces of hardware.

I am about 3 days away from my tax return check coming in....then I start ordering.


The only thing that sux is all the parts coming in separately.....it's gonna cost me like $200.00 for shipping charges. newegg won't waive shipping even though my order is gonna be over 2k....because I upgraded and added a few things!

But they did offer a $50.00 order discount because of the amount of the order.....better than nothing I guess!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I might have to knock off a couple of xtra goodies to knock the price down low enough to cover shipping!!!!!

most of my parts are coming in today and I will be building tomorrow

when I build my system(this is my first NEW build with a bare HDD) after install of hardware,should I power on and see if it will post or do first post after install of OS

what if any bios adjustments should be made right off the bat?

I upgraded my CPU to I7

DVI would be better

You cant install the OS without POST so that one answers itself.

You probably wont need to change many things in the bios, most will be set to auto by default.

what did you wind up putting together overall?

My pc temps are all great except for the graphics card....its maintaning a constant 66 C
should it be this high????


sensor 1....CPU...34 C
sensor 2....VGU...66 C
sensor 3....mem1..32 C (sensor snuggled between 2 ram cards)
sensor 4....HDD...27 C
sensor 5....mem2..30 C

I may have the sensor for the VGU in a bad place...I sank it in the frame next to one of the copper cooling pipes!!!
I thought that it might read too cool there, I hope i'm not running hotter than that!!!

Thats a little warm if the machine was at idle. Its not bad, just warm. If you just came out of running a game or something then its just where it should be.

That is the constant idle temp....my heat sensor is firmly against one of the heat pipes...is this location good or bad????

also....I have never updated a bios before and want to make sure I have the latest bios
BUT....I'm lost...when I start up the flash bios update tool I dont know where to go from there!

I only have three things listed:

ST3500418AS - Partition 1
AT350048 AS - Partition 2
ATAPI iHAS424 Y - ATAPI


the third one doesn't do anything when I select it.
the other two give like a DIR tree


O.K. .....now i'm worried.....I DL'd the trial version of everest ultimate 5.* and it shows even hotter temps than my fan controller

the heat pipe is not a good place, the only accurate place is on the gpu but u cant get to it without removing the heat sink which i dont recommend. Everest isnt a guarantee either but 70s is possible operating range for that card. Best option is to load a game on max settings and play it a while, it the screen doesnt glitch, show any weird artifacts then your ok.

Toms Hardware reports it to run between 70 and 80 with no probs.

I completely overlooked it, my apologies. I see you have it listed as a intel p55 but can u give me the specific details? Intel p55 is the chipset but whats the mobo brand and model number. Im asking because updating bios's vary's greatly between makers.
