Loud and High GPU Fan speed Games freezing within minutes

Postby ramy_chaos » Thu Sep 16, 2010 12:44 am

Hi there,

My computer recently got a new Powersupply (Cooler Master 750w GX) because my old one got fried apparently and after that there was a problem with the power in the motherboard apparently so that had to get fixed,am not rlly sure what it was since i didnt fix it...after i got my pc back i started playing and the pc froze completely twice,so i brought it back and turns out that one of my 2 RAMs had a burnt IC which the guy replaced.Anyways, eversince i got my computer working again, pretty much everytime i play Mafia 2 or Dragonage Origins and similarly demanding games, the GPUs fan gets insanely loud and the game starts to stutter and after a few minutes the game completely freezes,so i open the task manager and switch back to the game and it freezes again after a few seconds making me unable to play basically any game i have. Does any1 know what the problem is? Thanks!

Here's my PC Setup:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
4GB Kingston DDR2 (2x2GB) in Dual Mode @ 400 Mhz
Coolermaster 750W GX
Gigabyte 9800GTX @ 512MB DDR3
Mainboard: Gigabyte EP35-DS3L

Check the fan condition on the GPU and make sure it can cool the GPU.
Try use a desktop fan help with the cooling on the GPU, if the game is ok, no freeze, you may need to add a case fan close to the GPU. If still the same problem, maybe the GPU need to be replaced.

Hope this helps.
