New computer Freeze problem
Case: Corsair 600t
MOBO: MSI p67a - gd65 ( revised )
PSU: Corsair HX 650
GPU: EVGA 570 GTX Superclocked
RAM: Corsair Vengance 2x4GB
CPU: i5 2500K
Win 7 Home Premium OEM
The system has been put together and functional for two weeks now. The system was mainly built for gaming purposes. I am encountering a strange problem that I hope someone can help with. The computer consistently freezes while @ desktop or when sitting for periods of time. It will freeze sometimes when watching videos or streaming radio from the internet. However, the system has never frozen when playing a game. If it does freeze it will boot right back up with 0 problems. Go into desktop and you can really do whatever you like.
I thought it may be a RAM issue because I raised the speed to 1600, so I lowered it back down to the default 1333 but it the problem did come up again. It's odd because the system has only locked up once while I'm actually "using" it. This only happened in the Load screen of Starcraft 2 but never in game. I have played many many games and have never had it lock up during game. It's always, minus one time, at desktop while sitting idle or surfing the web.
If there is audio when it freezes while on the web the sound goes to a loud scratchy sound and not to a repeating skipping sound like I have experienced from other lock ups. Please let me know if I can give any further info.
Thanks in advance for your help!
