Hi here are the specs
Lanparty Ultra b mobo
athlon xp3000
radeon 9800 pro
2x 512ddr pc2700 333 mem
windows xp pro sp1a

K problem is the cpu I was supplied is fsb400 , but was billed for a fsb333 , what is happening is that the mobo detects the chip at 200 and autos the multiplier which shows the corrects speed of 2.17ghz in windows.
But the machine crashes to the blue screen of death.

So I tried setting the multiplier to 13 with power at 166 which is settings for a 333 xp3000 cpu and windows detected at 1.75ghz , this was more stable but still blue screened on me.

Currently I am running at 1.05ghz which is stable but obviously under power.

What I need to know is will buying ddr 3200 400 memory save me having to return the chip or shall i just return the chip and get a 333 one instead.

Please help i am getting desperate

I would go with the ddr400 memory, but buy good memory, not generic..That should keep you running stable. What is the "bsod" error exactly?Let us know which error your getting,it will help determine the cause.
