CMOS battery related problem...

Hey,
My PC works fine, but it might not be running at its optimal settings. Here are my specs:

AMD XP 2600+
PC Chips M848A Mobo
1 G DDR 2700 RAM
Radeon 9800 Pro 128
Western Digital 160 GB HDD

Everytime I boot up it says CMOS battery low and CMOS battery memory size wrong. So, I select to run the default settings and it works fine. But, If I try to change any settings in the BIOS, it can't save the changes on the battery, and I have to reset the mobo jumpers. I have tried two different mobos and have also changed the battery, but it still does the same thing.

It also says I have a AMD Duron 1250, which I don't. I don't know if that has to do with the BIOS not having the FSB speed set right. ???

Any info will help.
Thanks in advance!

something you can try is boot from the xp disk and start the recovery console.Use the (<-link) and/or the (<-link) command(s).

When I boot from the XP CD, it checks my hardware configuration and then states:

Line 2347 of the INF file \i386\txtsetup.sif is invailid
The setup cannot continue...

Theres not alot of info on that other than the links below.I saw where someone claimed to have formatted the drive, installed 98 then xp as a work around. It apparently worked for them..not really something i would want to do.
