Boot Problems

Hi, this is my first post here at pctechforums, but i've been dealing with computers for a while.
OK, so my computer was giving me a ton of C++ errors and programs were crashing left and right, so i eventually broke down and reformatted. I systematically went through and checked after installing each driver to see which one was screwing me up, and it ended up being an AMD 'driver' update from windows update. I thought this was weird anyways... I don't usually check for updates for my processor. Anywho, after everything seemingly calmed down, my computer started to restart randomly. I noticed that it was mainly under load, but not all the time. So I flashed the bios to the latest and no results. Somewhere along the line, the system decided that it wasn't going to boot! Now I'm completely stuck. The system powers on, and chipset fans spin, etc. but no POST. I did have this problem before... and got a replacement BIOS chip, but I'm hoping it isn't that again. So does anyone have any suggestions, besides getting yet another bios chip :( ? Thanks in advance

You could always try reinstalling windows and then see if the same driver screws you up... but if thats not the case is it making any sounds like it is trying to log on or any error beeps?

Thanks for the suggestions
I've been through them both, tried to clear CMOS via jumper switch, and to the first reply, by POST I meant Power On Self Test... i.e. no beeps... no nothing :( just power on, chipset fans spin, along w/ hdd and optical drives powering up. thanks anyways...Anybody else have suggestions?
...looks like i'm gonna be calling leadtek again...(or just buying a new mobo :flame: )

try again...

Does kinda point to the Power Supply.... I always have a standby to try. Is that available to you?
How about a new Cmos battery?
