direct draw problems

Hi, I have just installed a radeon 9200se and i am having problems running some of my games, when i try to open games such as starcraft, or star wars galatic battlegrounds i get an error screen saying direct draw could not initilize, any ideas
p.s. i have tryed reducing my hardware acceleration, but it was no use.

direct draw will probably be a separate download unfortunately. While you are at it, you might want to make sure you have the latest Direct X too.

ok not happy now, i have got directx 9b and the catalist 4.4 and still got probs, it will play farcry and unreal2004 no probs it just wont work on the older stuff, i am running oyt of ideas could another program be running direct draw, if so how do i find it?
