New PC Quick Shut off

Postby fishoutofwater579 » Thu Jun 10, 2004 11:21 pm

Ok you guys, I just made the upgrade on the box from the http://www.pctechforums.com/modules.php ... pic&t=2112 post. I have everything in right, I'm positive about that. I went to boot it and it goes into BIOS as usual and then I can get out of it and it shuts off. Regardless of what you do to it, it will shut off after approxiamately 20-30 secs after boot up. Don't know what is wrong with it, only thing that would come to mind is a over-heating problem. Main fan is not hooked up, no slot for it. Will work on that later. Thanx guys.

try blowing a big normal house fan into the case with the side pannel taken off.... see what happens then. also most computer stores and even office stores have cables that would allow you to hook up a 3pin fan to a 4pin connector

I'd almost need to know what it's doing durring those 20-30 seconds. Does it go through post? does it start loading the operatng system? Does it always turn off at the same point? Does it even display anything? Does it beep?
