What brand Cdr's to buy?

Postby Restek » Tue Jul 22, 2003 2:41 pm

What are people's experiences with various brand CDR's? My Hi-Fi recently died & I've had to use my DVD player to play my cd's, however it really struggles with the cheap spindles of CDR that I usually buy & I get loads of skipping (they play fine in the computer). I borrowed a different brand CDR from work & it worked fine in the player - so what brands of CDR have you guys successfully used in hi-fi's/DVD players etc?

My very favorite cd's to burn on are of the ricoh brand. The ones I have are only rated at 8x, but my 52x burner runs at full speed with them, and they don't loose anything.

I have found that when i write to cheaper cd's at full speed i have trouble reading them on drives other than the source drive (ie. the writer itself), but if i slow it down to 16x or even 8x, the other drives read it fine.
