Hello all

specs
asus a7v-133 m/b
athlon 1.3 ghz
512mb ram
Inno nvidia gforce4 128mb graphics card
soundblaster audigy
adsl card

Its not exactley a problem i have but more in the way of advice needed. Iam currently thinking about upgrading my p.c including the motherboard, my video card supports agp x2/4 .

My three questions are

1:-will my vid card work with agp x8?

2:-whilst looking at differnet motherboards i noticed that some say (on the documentation) agp slot for 1.5v only. How do i find out what volts my graphics card runs at?

3:-If my graphics card dosent support agp x8 or its more than 1.5v can i get a good motherboard that supports agp x4 and supports my voltage that can take an 2800 athlon xp because thats the cpu i was looking to buy?

Thanks in advance

1. Version 3.0 of the AGP interface (or AGP 3.0) provides a smooth upgrade path to AGP 8X
as well as being backward compatible the AGP3.0 will check the level of the host system, and automatically
configure the AGP interface to run in 3.0 mode at 4X or 8X speeds, or in 2.0 mode at 2X or 4X speeds.

2. All Nvidia 4x video cards are built to the AGP 2.0 standard and use 1.5V

3. See numbers 1 and 2.
