I need some advice with installing new hardware....any help?

Postby cheekycritter » Fri Jul 09, 2004 8:28 am

Hi, I posted problems about Ram a day ago on my old computer; some one said that the best Idea was not really get a new computer.
As luck would have it, it looks like I am going to get one of a friend who does not need it for is work any more.
This is were I need help…
I like to play online games and the computer I am getting, at the moment is not really that good at games.

The computer has a 733MHZ processor and I think 128 Ram and 32 Bit graphics card.
If I buy a 128 G Force card and put it in and then install windows xp with about 1GB of RAM on to this computer would it be, ok with the card?
I know that it can take more ram on the motherboard, I have not got the pc yet put I did look at it awhile ago and I remember the slots for the Ram are upgradeable.

Also if a game says it needs say 800MHZ to 1GB processor speed, but only 64MB graphics memory and 256RAM, could I run it on my computer, that is 733MHZ and 128MB Graphics card and about 1GB of RAM? Does it balance out or is not possible to get it to work?
I would be grateful for any help.
