Is it possible for overheating to cause your system to hang up? I've noticed it happening alot more recently and just wondered if its due to the hot summer were having.
I'm convinced its my video card causing it because I've disabled my sound card but it still happens and it only happens when playing games.
I've updated just about every driver and patch, including BIOS,motherboard
and Direct X drivers, but it just keeps happening.

Overheating could definately be causing it. Try taking one side of your case off, and point a desk fan at it if you have a spare one lying around, and see if it still does it.

Well I tried the fan thing and I've had no problems since so I guess it was the heat.Suppose I'll have to go out and buy another internal fan.

Thanks for the advice!

most effective will be a BALL BEARING 80MM fan added to your case. If your case does not have any extra holes, get a 80mm hole saw and add a new hole to the left side of your case. Place the "new" fan hole over the PCI/AGP cards for best performance. A good place to buy fans is Don't forget you'll need a fan gaurd too!
- good low noise/decent airflow fan
- fan gaurd

If your case happens to be sitting up against somethign on the left side, try installing a PCI slot blower fan
- blower -ball bearing blower

Another place you can find all kinds of fans/etc is . They are two of my very favorite stores
