I am sorry for not realizing my multi posts, it won't happen again.

As for the type of beeping it is a continous 1-2 pattern beep / bong , beep bong etc....

This will not stop until I physically turn off the power from the power strip I use.

It happens at random times regardless of what I am doing on my pc...but seems to happen more when i defrag or run a virus scan or play a pc game like total war

I will try the canned air and cleaning solution ASAP

As for the power supply being bad I hope not, the only way to check that is to hook another one up to the machine I suppose....

And bad RAM I would have to take one piece of 256 out at a time, do u think my MB may not be able to handle 3 sticks ?

I did not read any limits via my MB manual....

virus scans and games are very demanding apps, and could easily be causing a heat problem for you... If i were a betting man, i'd say you'll find dust is the culprit.. I'd say i'm 80% sure it's simply a dust issue. Beyond that, my next 18% would be heat also, but it would be a heat/design issue (such as not having enough fans to remove the heat from the case) You could test this by using a big fan like you'd use in your house, and pointing it at your case with the side pannels off. The last 2% say a hardware issue, but I won't even go there b/c it's unlikely in my mind.

as far as 3 sticks of ram, it looks like your motherboard has 3 slots, and supports dual channel ram. While the PC will support 3 sticks of ram, it would run faster if you had only 2 sticks of equal speed/size ram in the two main slots. If you run 3 sticks it will disable the dual channel capabilites of your motherboard. If you don't have 2 sticks that are similar anyway, then you wouldn't be able to benefit from the dual chanel speed increase. I don't think ram is your problem, but you may be able to squeeze some extra preformance out of your motherboard if you move around sticks. If you want to play, try benchmarking b4/after with a program like sisoft sandra.

if its a laptop .... perhaps your power cord is bad.... the computer will make a beeping noise as battery gets low .
