Primary Master Drive Failure

Postby Livnetsrv » Sun Aug 31, 2003 7:56 pm

When I boot up my pc, i get 'primary master drive failure'. I thought maybe it was the hd, but I have plugged three different drives into IDE1, and all of them fail. How do I run a test, or is there a tool I need to check whether IDE1 went bad or not?

Thanks in advance :)

Have you tried replacing the IDE ribbon cable?

Ok... maybe a little more background would be appropriate. For testing and certification reasons, I put a removable drive cage in this machine before the problems started. Afterwards, the drive started failing, and I haven't had any luck with it since. I have since removed the cage, and still can't get the system to recognize any drives.
