this may be a case of confusing ATI product names. The athlon XP 2700+ does not actually run at 2.7 ghz.. it runs at 2.1 ghz. At 2.1 ghz the 2700+ is comprable to a intel 2.7 ghz machine... the ATI chip simply gets more done per clock cycle than it's Intel counterpart.
where are you seeing the 2100+ speed rating?
edit, I also see another possible problem. The multiplier (ratio) on both the 2100 and the 2700 are both 13x.. the only difference is the bus/clock speed. Many motherboards do have a single jumper to switch bus speeds, others completely auto-detect that... the Note on the posted page sais note: you have to adjust cpu fsb in bios after installing cpu... the CPU FSB is the same as the ev6 bus clock rating.
