CPU requirements

I have a ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard and plan on replacing the CPU and it says that the best CPU that can go in it is a 2700+. Well I plan on getting a 2500+ Mobile and clocking it up to be uber good. Will that hurt the board in any kind of way.

ummm.. why are you going for a 2500+ Mobile chip??? why not just get a standard 2500-2700 chip instead??

and although your chip might take it.. if the mobo is rated only at 2700+.. that is probably the highest you will be able to reliably overclock to..
