Startup sound

Postby josh10581 » Mon Feb 07, 2005 5:30 pm

A few months ago i quickly threw together a computer just trying to get it running. The screws werent all tight and the motherboard wasnt completely stable. After a while my computer said that it failed to read either of my hard drives. I decided to pull it all apart and tighten everything up a little bit. Now that I have it all put back together, it makes a buzzer sound when I turn it on. Is that the 'death rattle' for my baby?

I had the same problem at one time, now Im not sure if it is the same problem but in my case I had some of the hardware cable connected improperly. I also had a HD that buzzed like crazy and sure enough it was dead. But before it died I got a S.M.A.R.T HD error to warn me.
