got a new hard drive need help

i just bought a SATA 120gb hard drive and im just wondering what to do. i just took the red skinny wire connected to the hard drive and the motherboard and im just wondering what to do next i tryed to install the driver and when i do it says its not connected

you need to hook the harddrive up to power, do u have a cable like this :



u plug the black end into the harddrive and then the white end into a power supply cable ( u only need one of those cables), it usually comes with your motherboard, i dunno if u just bought your motherboard, but u can get one of those cables here:



or your powersupply might have one on it already just look for a black connector coming from your powersupply
