Duel Core 3 Ghz Processor For Gaming?

Postby pau7 » Sun Sep 25, 2005 3:47 am

I'm saving up money to purchase a pc and I have a quick question.

Would a Duel Core 3 GHZ processer work pretty well with games like Half life 2 and Battle field 2? Or would I have to buy like a $700 processor just to get it to run well?

Thanks a lot,

Dual Processors have no effect on games. Save your money.

Alright thanks so heres what i've currently come down to...

CPU - AMD 64 X2 4400

Video Card - Nvidia 6600 GT (possibly dual or SLI)

Hows that for a budge gaming computer to play games like Half Life 2?

And also would I probably need a more powerful Power Supply, since it comes with a 420 watt?

I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL HELP SINCE I'M EXTREMLY NEW TO THE COMPUTER SCENE.

Is that 2 AMD processors you have there? Two processors are worthless when it comes to games.

SLI is very cool, but today's games don't require it. Down the road I'm sure it will be big. But then the Video cards should be cheaper or more powerful, so I would save my money there as well.

420W power supply is more then enough. :)
