problems with gigabyte GA-8IP775-G motherboard

Postby JGR » Wed Oct 19, 2005 4:56 am

I have a gigabyte GA-8IP775-G. When I turned on my computer the cpu fan turns on for about 3 seconds and then it turns off. I f I took the ATX 12V input out of the motherboard, the computer stays on, but the BIOS does not boot up.

I'm debugging the motherboard, but actually I haven't installed an operating system to use it. So, what I have connected to the motherboard is a video card, 1 DDR RAM, and the power supply. Power Supply works properly, I don't know if its the procesor or the motherboard damaged.

Try removing the power cord. Reseat the memory and clear the cmos. Plug it back in and see if you get a beep out of it. Check also to make sure that the cpu fan is plugged in fully, Its very easy to connect a plug half way (one connected and one off). Usually there are two spots to connect a cpu fan, try the alternate one.
