As what was already stated either an ATI or Nvidia PCI card should work for you.
Below is the order of things you will need to do to get the new video card to work.
First uninstall your current video drivers, go to Start > Control panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button.
Now click the plus sign (+) next to Display adapter next right click your current card and select uninstall.
Reboot your system, tapping the delete key on bootup to get into the BIOS.
Once in the BIOS go to the intergraded devices section and disable the onboard video.
Shut the system down and physically install the new pci card.
When you start the system up you should get the new hardware wizard, now install the drivers for your new card.
