Is this a hardware issue? Randomly my computer will restart, and then it will get back to loading everything, my avast coems up and says dumpreg key has tried to access the registry or somethign to that effect, dumpreg k-o or something. What is this? Everytime it crashes I lose all my bookmarks in my firefox toolbar, everything.

Sounds like a virus to me. Have you done a virus/anti-spy/spyware scan?
If not I recommend you do.

If it is saying something about dumprep 0 -k this is windows trying to write a Minidump of the error and set the registry to run a scandisk.

Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery section
Settings button > System Failure section > check the boxes 'Write an event to the system log' and uncheck Automatically Restart.
This way the next time it happens you will get a BSOD (blue screen of death)
Write down what the error message was and post it back here.

To me this sound like a heat or maybe a memory problem.

Ok a long time later, it just happened again, it dumped the physical memory. These are the numbers or codes I got off the blue screen

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (not sure what this means, it said it near the very top of the blue screen)

***STOP 0x0000000A (0x0000001C, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8053BEE9)

It said what I posted above near the very bottom then it said "beginning physical memory dump, physical memory dump complete, you know all that crap. So what is the deal?

i have the same bsod error, on a toshiba satellite pro l10 laptop. ive tryed flashing the bios, rus scans, low level formats, swapping RAM, updating all drivers, full reinstalls of xp, xp pro, 2000, 2kpro, fbsd, gentoo, ect and still the same - ive even disabled bios cache and shadowing, anyone have any ideas ? all i can think of is the hard drive. ive even changed the grafix options in the bios incase i was using too much ram ( vid memory is just robbed from ram )
