What's up with my CD Rom Drive?

Postby Un4g1v3n » Sat Mar 11, 2006 4:57 am

Okay, so get this.

I have a combo 2-in-1 Burner / reader. I burnt 3 discs (the diablo II games from an ISO files) and at first they work, but after that, they're not recognized by my computer. They come up as a empty disc. However, they're read on my other computer just fine. What's up with this?

Edit: My drive reads non-burned games perfectly.

Do you know if you burnt them as multisession? (doing a little research in the meantime)

I used the firmware thing, and it SEEMED it was going good. It detected the frist disc i tried on startup, but when I took it out and put in the second disc, it does the same thing. Only this time it says it's a Cd-Rom drive instead of a CD-R/RW drive.

What did you do to my burning capabilities?!

If I use just a normal ethernet cord, can I connect to my other computer? If so, I could just get the regitry files and the Folder from my other computer, right?

Here's another update:

The discs are read if they're in the drive while windows first starts (after the welcome screen) If they're in the drive when you reboot, the system will hang until the disc is removed.

However, after windows started this time, it read the 2nd disc. But, shortly after (about 2 seconds) I got an error message:

'Could not open device due to an I /O error.'

Lovely isn't it?
